Cuisinart soup maker blends, heats, and serves

This is a slower rotation of the blades that’s used to mix food. Soup is also incredibly easy to cook, and a soup maker renders the process even simpler. While not exactly an essential kitchen item, a soup maker can save plenty of time.

This can be adjusted throughout the cooking process, but a time must be selected to start the heater initially. After my initial cuisinart soup maker enthusiastic experiments I have used it about twice. It does make good soup but no better than I can make in other ways.

I liked that it had weighing scales built in, music to the ears of those looking to stick to recipes meticulously. The LED timer was helpful to ascertain how long you’ve got left on your soup, which usually took around half an hour to make. I’m not sure how long we had for the challenge, but I believe it was all completed within an hour, including the time required to chop the vegetables. The smooth setting takes just 23 minutes, and my butternut squash and orange soup was delicious. The keep warm setting lasts 40 minutes, so you can cook well ahead of your actual eating time.

Meanwhile, in a cuisinart soup maker and blender over low heat, warm the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook, using the stir function occasionally, until just tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Increase the heat to medium, add the carrots and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the curry powder, salt and pepper and cook, using the stir function occasionally, until fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Increase the heat to high, add the stock and bring the soup to a boil.

As part of a blogger conference I attended called Blissdom Canada, we were able to choose from a variety of excursions to attend on the final day of the conference. Overall, it’s a premium device with some useful functions, though admittedly comes at a greater cost.

While so far I have primarily used mine to make soups, you can make a lot of other types of foods with this handy device. With many other devices, you choose your function and it cooks and blends within a certain time frame. Here, you can personalise temperature and time, to perfect whatever recipe you’ve chosen to make. My potato and leek soup came out a tad watery, thought not at all unpleasant. All of their products are rooted in the company’s goal to make life easier and help you ‘savour the good life’.
