The cooking surface is similar in size to grills found in many campgrounds. We purchased the Q1200 on the recommendation of other campers. We have a larger Weber grill for home use and felt good about the quality of Weber products based on our past experience. I recommend this grill for couple or small families, especially campers. I’m not even sure that I would have, except that I still own a weber genesis 2 grill. I feel like I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t give you the most accurate review possible. Very little has changed since I reviewed two Weber Q grills over seven years ago. A slight model name change and some cosmetic updates are the only differences between the old and new grills. The Q line of grills still have all of the same features, the same specifications and most importantly, they all operate the same and produce the same results.
Remove the grease tray and dispose of the liner and its contents appropriately. Remove grill grates, them, and using warm, soapy water, weber charcoal grill wipe out the grill body and lid, inside and out. The grill grates are cast iron and are more plate-like where they cover the burner.
I called Weber they recommended I loosen all, the screws so I could try and get the can to fit that way…how ridiculous. Paid to much to have to go through that eventide you want to change the propane can. I wholeheartedly recommend the Weber Q1200 portable grill.
Instead of just ordering a pizza, he and his coworkers decided to have a parking lot cookout at lunchtime, and I offered to let them use the Weber to test its portability. He packed up the grill in the bed of his truck, and while he was surprised at its weight—which is more than 40 pounds—he really liked that it felt sturdy and durable. Using the grill, he was able to cook easily for himself and four coworkers, and they all agreed that the burgers and hot dogs came out great.
