Spirit Series Gas Grills

The burgers were remarkably juicy, perhaps due to the fast cook time. The flat side of the Spirit II grill grate is half cast iron for better heat conduction and searing, and half open for radiant and convection cooking . After taking everything out of the box it’s time to put up some of those nice stainless steel legs (yay!). The front part of these legs has a cool weber logo laser etched into them- very classy!

The Spirit II is an improvement to the Spirit on any levels. With its excellent GS4 grilling system, tech-friendly twist better warranty options and compact footprint, grilling becomes a lot more versatile. Having said that, regardless of which model you choose, with Weber you can expect nothing less than the best grilling experience. If you’re interested in the Weber Spirits it is probably worth checking out the differences of the Spirit to the Genesis series as well.

I also like that the grill has indicators that let you know where exactly to adjust the burner knobs for high, medium and low heat. It also doesn’t have a spot to hide the propane tank weber spirit 2 like the Spirit II’s competitors. That isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker, but it looks less streamlined since you can easily see the tank versus hiding it behind a couple of doors.

The left-hand table is slightly smaller, at 23 by 14 inches. Unlike on the Spirit II E-310, on the E-325s neither side weber spirit 2 table folds down. So triple-check your space to make sure you have room for this 61-inch-long grill before you buy!

This is definitely a nice feature if you like to barbecue chicken, turkey, & other fowl! Across the three chicken tests, they averaged 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach 165 degrees. That isn’t a very long wait, but it’s significantly longer than the Char-Broil Performance XL, which only took 1 hour and 11 minutes. My chicken was tender and somewhat Blackstone Adventure juicy with somewhat crispy skin — I even took some home for leftovers. But the speedy Performance XL blew it away with deliciously tender whole grilled chickens. The GS4 system includes a new ignition system that’s “ensured to ignite every time.” It worked eight times out of ten, but it didn’t always ignite after my first attempt.

The first is that it allows me to easily transfer food from platters onto the grill with minimal hassle. I can also do so quickly to ensure that all the food starts cooking at the same time. Most small and average-sized grills have two separate burners, controlled independently, or one burner with independently controlled halves. Some average-size grills have up to four burners with corresponding controls large grills often have six. Additional burner controls generally allow the cook more flexibility.

While it may not be on the same level as high end or newer models, the Weber Spirit II E 310 has plenty to offer in terms of both power as well as grilling opportunities. Of course, a pretty important aspect of any grill is temperature control and maintenance. The temperature gauge is easy to use and is great for ensuring that you choose as precise of a setting as you desire. This feature can be especially useful in colder conditions when you are finding against lower temperatures and wind in starting up your grill. As it is all battery operated, the effort is taken out of your hands.

To a degree, all grills suffer from this problem, because the burners don’t extend all the way to the front of the firebox. But the Spirit II E-310 offered the most consistent heating across the entire grate surface. After 10 minutes, the burgers at the rear were medium-well, and those at the front were medium-rare to medium . On the Napoleon grill, meanwhile, some of the front burgers were nearly raw in the center, while the rear burgers were well-done. In spring 2017, we kicked off this grill guide by putting six gas grills through a battery of tests. We cooked a full grate of burgers on high heat and chicken pieces at a low temperature.
