Brunswick sold Mongoose to Pacific Cycle in 2000 and Pacific Cycle was bought by Montreal-based Dorel Industries in 2004. By combining Pon.Bike and Dorel Sports, a leading bicycle company on the planet will be created, with a mixed revenue of around 2.5 billion euro. Mongoose is a brand name of bicycles originally mongoose hybrid bike designed, manufactured, and offered by BMX Products, Inc. RECO was a wholly owned manufacturing division created for insurance coverage functions to be separate from BMX Products, Inc, although RECO was all the time produced in-house.
It was headed by Vice President of Manufacturing Hoppy Brooks, in his attempt to market motorcycle frames. Skip Hess began BMX Products, Inc. out of his residence in Simi Valley, California in September 1974 along with mongoose kids bike his first product being the well-known Motomag One wheel. In its early years Hess recalled that about 600 frames per day have been produced at its Chatsworth, Los Angeles location.
