If you return your kit in a timely manner, you will not be charged but we may bill your insurance. Kits will be provided and processed by our partner, LabCorp. LabCorp will overnight a testing kit to you, Monday through Friday. LabCorp kits are only for individuals 18 years of age or older. Covered members are eligible to be reimbursed up to $12 per single test, but not more that the cost per test. A maximum of 8 tests per month, per plan member may be submitted for reimbursement.
If you have health insurance and need help finding your health care provider, call the customer service number on your insurance card, or view websites of major health care providers in Orange County. The test will either be free directly at the point of sale, if your health plan provides for direct coverage, or by reimbursement if you are charged for your test. Be sure to keep your receipt if you need to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Many federal and state programs offer free, easy access to home tests. Health plans must cover 8 individual at-home over-the-counter COVID-19 tests per person enrolled in the plan per month. That means a family of four can get 32 tests per month for free. The Biden-Harris Administration is purchasing 500 million over-the-counter at-home tests to be distributed for free to all Americans who want them, with the initial delivery starting in January 2022. There will be a website where Americans can request at-home tests for home delivery—for free.

Individuals can self-administer the test anywhere at the time of pickup or take the test at home and drop off their test sample later at the closest drop box.
