Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones

They’re comfortable, offer decent active noise canceling, and provide a clean sound profile. We especially like them for listening to EDM and hip-hop, as they really let you feel the bass drop. The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphone is designed for long-term comfort to match its impressive battery life of up to 22 hours for all-day play. The soft over-ear cushions feature advanced venting and signature ergonomic pivoting for a custom, flexible fit for any head shape.

Beats’ Pure ANC actively blocks external noise and uses real-time audio calibration to preserve clarity, range and emotion. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are better headphones for neutral sound than the Beats Studio3 Wireless. Although they’re both closed-back, over-ear headphones, the Audio-Technica have a more neutral sound and a slightly better passive soundstage. However, unlike the Audio-Technica, the Beats are wireless and they have controls, a microphone, and active noise cancelling, making them more versatile headphones overall. They’re also slightly more comfortable and their battery lasts up to 23 hours.

I didn’t get anywhere near that with my Android devices, reaching probably 12 or 14 hours before needing to charge back up. Oh, and the joys of charging this Apple peripheral with a MicroUSB beats studio3 cable. Apple, the same company that haughtily declared the headphone jack obsolete on phones, persists in shipping Beats headphones with the decidedly retrograde MicroUSB port on them.

Right now, I can use the same charger to refuel my MacBook Pro, Pixel 2, and Bowers & Wilkins PX, but if I actually went all in on Apple’s ecosystem, I’d need three different cables. Beats says with noise canceling off, you can expect about 40 hours of battery life, and that was pretty close to what I got. So that would mean you can listen for a little under two days; on average, with off and on listening, I got around three days before needing to charge. With noise canceling on, Beats estimates around 20 hours, and at most I was able to get 18½, with some pauses with the headphones being turned off. In our beats solo pro wireless review, we found that they deliver everything you’d want in a premium set of wireless Bluetooth headphones.
