This is just to let you know of my background and my knowledge. Your tents are not even good for more than two or three camping trips before the 10 has to be replaced because of your substandard zippers you put on the front door. You can expect a brand-new canvas wall tent to last anywhere from 10 to 50 years, depending on how much it gets used, how well it is maintained, and what kind of environment it is used in. So a canvas wall tent used twice a month for eight months of the year in moderate temperatures is maintained whenever needed and stored in a dry place may last over 50 years. But a tent that is left up all year round in extreme heat and weather and is only maintained once every few years may only last ten years before it starts to degrade beyond repair. Wall tents usually have an internal metal frame but occasionally have the frame on the outside, like the Kodiak or PROTA.
We, like some others, know that tents are NOT waterproof, so we sprayed the seams etc. with water replant. When we reached the beach everything went great, first night 30 mh winds. Next night still calm, took cover off and loved looking up at the night sky.
However, this boxy shape means they aren’t the most aerodynamic and need a strong frame. The Mineral King 3 and the Tungsten 4 have similar tent-body profiles and are nearly identical in setup, except that the Tungsten 4 uses two brow poles instead of one to support its fly. Like the Mineral King 3, the Tungsten is a largely mesh dome tent with a tape-seamed polyester bathtub floor, which is highly water resistant. Neither tent experienced any ground leaks during testing, either under rainy conditions or when we soaked the tents and the ground underneath them with a garden hose.
I must say that nothing is waterproof, water resistant is a better term. I have found that the seams of the tent do drip a little when it rains (after all machines put tiny holes in things when they are sewn together) it is nothing that cannot be fixed with a little time and patience. I bought a $3 bottle of seam sealer followed the directions and have not had a single issue with water since. Every single one of our camping experiences has been ruined because of the OZARK tent. I would like a response to this please and I do expect some compensation of some kind!
This Straight Wall Family Cabin Tent is exactly what its name says, a very typical cabin style structure with almost vertical walls. The tent is also very tall with its peak height of 86 inches (218 cm), so this is a good reason to include it in my list of very tall family camping tents. Wall tents are designed to be used more long-term, so they need to be extra durable and provide above-average comfort. They have traditionally been made from cotton canvas, and many still are, but the woven polyester canvas is becoming more popular due to its price, weight, and lower maintenance.
Having a Large Enough Vehicle / Proper Equipment – Please be cognizant of the size and/or quantity of items you are picking up. Please supply any and all ozark tent equipment necessary to load out and/or secure your items. Bring a helper if you have accumulated multiple invoices or know you have a large/heavy item.
In high winds, it took us a maximum of 10 minutes to pitch and fully secure the tent fly with extra lines and stakes.
