Ozark Trail 5-in-1 Convertible Instant Tent and Shelter Review

I think I will go shopping this week for another tent that I feel better about. Otherwise I like the tent but do not trust it to hold up in severe conditions. The easiest models to pitch are pretty much always “instant tent” shelters, which use a system of preattached poles than only need to be unfolded and locked into place.

It is easy to set up and take down, and I loved the fact that it has three windows for lots of circulation in the heat and humidity. Let me just tell you this, it doesn’t make a difference what model your tent is. The main thing is is that the zippers that you put in these tents are so substandard that it doesn’t last more than one or two camping trips.

The dome design means you won’t have too much room to stand or move around, but for anyone who prefers to spend most of their time outdoors and only get in the tent to sleep, it’s a top pick for sure. The tunnel-shaped tent gives you ample interior room—more than 217 square feet, with space enough for 4 queen-sized air beds—and the 78-inch peak height is comfortable for even taller campers. If you need a bit of privacy (for couples or parents), simply use the divider to partition ozark trail tent the tent into 2 separate rooms. With a door at each end of the tunnel tent, you’ll never have to worry about stepping over your fellow sleepers on your way out or in. So yes, the Ozark Trail is an absolute steal of a deal if you’re into the bell tent design, but there are a few shortcomings you’ll want to be aware of if you’re considering it. First, although it’s a great space to hang in good weather, the yurt’s ventilation struggles to keep up in serious heat.

All of that packs into the included EZ Pack expandable wheeled carry bag, for a convenient, affordable, all-in-one camping solution. Tents can be a pain to set up in the best of conditions, but what about when it’s dark, cold, and rainy? However, the manufacturers seemed to be aware of this, which is why they created most Ozark Trail Camping Chairss with an instant design. Unroll the tent fabric on the ground, and pop everything into place in a matter of seconds.

The tent includes a large storage locker with zippered access from both inside and outside the tent, a built-in mud mat, a media pocket, a gear loft, and three 2-section storage pockets. Plus, the center loop allows you to hang a lantern and the E-Port makes it easy to run power to your devices. You’ll never have to fight over whose turn it is to set up the tent again; thanks to the pre-attached poles, set-up will take a grand total of 60 seconds.

In fact, with a little bit of seam sealer and an at-home DWR treatment, the tent performed much better in the rain than otherwise. All told, with some aftermarket work and careful staking, the tent will hold up in mildly unpleasant wet weather conditions. I still would not recommend it in extended rainfall or during storms. On that note, I can imagine very few circumstances in which 7 people could comfortably share this tent.
