Aside from switching out the tanks, you can just sit back and relax while it hustles around your room doing all the work for you. It’s a great maintenance cleaner, first vacuuming hard floors and area rugs to remove surface dust, then scrubbing hard floors to get them clean and shiny. In our tests, it cleaned hardwood and tile floors thoroughly getting all the way up to the tight corners and picking up pet hair and dry debris we didn’t even know was there.
However, some BISSELL models are a little easier to maintain—many new Shark models use non-removable brushrolls that can be a hassle to clean properly. While testing, we found that it still has many of the same attributes as some more expensive cordless stick vacs like a long run time, a variety of helpful attachments and variable suction levels. And it tends to be more affordable than high-end stick vacs. The tangle-free brush roll helps prevent hair from wrapping around it while cleaning, and the full-width suction means you’ll find an easier time getting those tight corners clean. We also appreciate that it includes a crevice and dusting brush tool so you can remove dirt from even the smallest spaces. Bissell has a history of manufacturing vacuum cleaners from as early as 1867, and we have been testing Bissell vacuums for many years.
Eureka and BISSELL vacuums occupy a similar budget-friendly niche, and offerings from each brand tend to have strengths. When comparing like-for-like models, BISSELLs usually have a wider array of convenience features, while Eurekas offer superior debris pickup performance. Dyson vacuums tend to occupy a much higher price point than BISSELL’s offerings, which is reflected in generally superior performance and better build quality. That said, BISSELL’s selection of corded models is far more extensive than what Dyson offers.
