The vacuum shut off repeatedly and alerted us that it needed to be emptied, despite having no debris in the dust bin, and it spit larger debris across the floor. However, it suddenly started performing flawlessly when we moved to cleaning our set of testing stairs. Safety with batteries is imperative and we encourage all customers buy only genuine Dyson batteries as replacements for their Dyson machines. One note we had is that small bits of dirt and other debris sprinkled out the bottom when we powered off the vacuum. At 25 feet, the cord is plenty long, but yanking it all over the car as you work gets old quickly.

The swivel head makes it easy to maneuver under lower pieces of furniture and it’s lightweight enough to easily transcend a flight of steps. Because of the small dust bin size, we think this vacuum is more suited for apartments or townhomes, but it could also serve as a quick mess-cleaning tool in busy households. If you’re looking for the powerful suction of an upright vacuum but the convenience of a cordless stick vacuum, this is the one for you.
A good stick vacuum should be lightweight, but not necessarily light-duty.
