After a good showing in WalMart (as BMX racing bikes go) last year, the mass market Donny Robinson bike is back for 2012, with a new paint-scheme which echoes that of the bike Donny will actually be riding (and that he just started talking about on Twitter yesterday). The all-white livery is said to be a silent tribute to dR’s decade-ago Powerlite AA-pro teammate, Mario Soto, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in his prime (at 22 years old) on January 16, 2001.

But if this is the first time you are going to hop on a bicycle, then there’s a real risk of an injury or a mishap. The Pandemic has single-handedly managed to revive cycling as a mainstream mobility option. Cycling blows your rigorous everyday commute out of the water. It lets you get outdoors and connect with the environment.

There are far too many cyclists out there who may not be equipped with the skills needed to navigate through bustling streets. If you have cycled on busy streets all your life, then it may not seem like much of a difference. See offer details for disqualifying products and destinations. “Brooks England is steeped in history, a prestige brand that boasts almost 150 years of tradition hyper bicycles and expertise. But quality and style never age. Do come in and take a seat.” “SMALL DETAILS. BIG DIFFERENCE. With this concept came the genesis of Avid, which you can still see in every product we make. Since 1991, Avid has been working hard to bring you the industry’s most dramatic improvements and make enhancements so sweet it’s hard to imagine riding without them.”

John and Ryan are bringing Strength back to life for 2012, via an innovative frame constructed out of magnesium. You old schoolers will remember that magnesium has been used a few times in BMX racing’s history–most famously in the breakthrough Mongoose Motomags of the 1970s and 80s. John Sawyer and Ryan Birk welcomed customers and media into a private hospitality suite, where their plans for 2012 were discussed openly and freely, and with a “this is gonna be AWESOME” kind of energy. It’s remarkable that, only 12 months ago, a chance meeting on the way out of the show was what brought John into the then-ailing Answer BMX picture as its new owner. Barely 365 days later, it could not be a more different situation, and THAT is one of the wonders of the face-to-face business that is done at conferences like Interbike. Notwithstanding the seemingly-valid argument on seeing the new products via Skype, that last point should not be minimized in any way.

This puts a question mark on many people’s plans year after year, as to whether it is “worth it” to travel to a trade show, aside from the four days of socializing. Donny was also key to the success of the Hyper “dR Pro Model” Program which made competitive, starter BMX bikes available to thousands of kids who would not otherwise had the chance to experience our sport. Hyper Bicycles regrets to announce the departure of Donny “dR” Robinson from the Hyper factory racing team. After five incredibly successful years, which included an Elite World Championship and an Olympic Bronze medal, Donny and Hyper have decided to part ways.

Colors will be Red, Blue, Black and Polished, and price point at about $49. Those two Cali kids join a roster of rock stars that include dR, himself, Donny Robinson–NAG 2 Shealen Reno, World 2 and NAG 3 Kohl Piluso, NAG hyper bicycles 4 Pete Choat (who won an astonishing 31 National main events in 2011), NAG 4 John Paul Pfeiffer, NAG 5 Luke Roarty and 2011 NBL Champion Jud Ciancio. But News was able to pry a few choice bits out of those in the know.

The specs are virtually identical to those of the Men’s version of this bike, you just gotta go ahead, kick the tires, and see if it’s a perfect fit for your size and biking preferences. More and more people are opting to cycle instead of using public transport during the pandemic. This has caused a sudden surge in the number of cyclists on the road.

A brand may hop between four or five owners over the course of a decade. There are various reasons for this, but generally it involves an acquisition of one company by another, or the previous owner losing it in an all-night poker game after the NORA Cup (ok, maybe not so much the second one–usually it’s not poker). Along with his acquisition of the Answer BMX brand, John Sawyer also took possession of the Strength BMX brand (you may remember that name from the Luke Wilson/Bubba Harris era, as Bubba was aboard a Strength prototype during his most recent time in the Answer uniform). And finally, there will be an Answer brake set in both pro and mini sizes, with a cool-as-ice-cream lever.

Another great day for Hyper Bicycles, announcing the addition of what has to be the most prolific brother-sister duo in BMX history. Lain & Kelsey Van Ogle have reached an agreement to be part of the Factory Hyper Team. Their resume includes an incredible four UCI World titles, an ABA National #1 Amateur and 21 N.A.G. #1 titles. Hyper Bicycles is looking forward to helping Lain & Kelsey add to their collection of titles, with the brand new design frame for 2012. Plaintiff’s approach hews more closely to precedent, especially that of this district.
