Not many of those changes have been officially revealed; we have seen Caroline Buchanan in her new DK kit, and have heard recently that Maris, David and Cristian have not yet signed on with Free Agent for 2013 (but also not to read too much into that fact). Claim construction proceeds differently with respect to design patents. Design patents are typically claimed as shown in drawings, and claim construction is adapted accordingly. Egyptian Goddess, Inc. v. Swisa, hyper bike Inc., 543 F.3d 665, 679 (Fed. Cir. 2008) (citation omitted). The Federal Circuit has instructed that a design patent’s claim is often better represented by illustrations than a written claim construction.
It saves us a fair bit of time that would otherwise be spent setting things up. All things said and done, there are a few pitfalls of hyper biking that you should also consider before you decide whether or not to pick one of these. That’s what makes people wonder whether these bikes are any good, or just hyped to the heavens. Look as good as their beefier, mountain-climbing counterparts.
Ryan also clued us in about a later project of Strength complete bikes, with an aluminum frame. While doing some research into magnesium as a possible material for use in the Answer fork line at the Taipei Bike Show, Ryan spied some frame blueprints hyper mountain bike sitting on a side table. So began a six-month development cycle of prototyping and testing this largely-untested frame material. And from all appearances, they hit a rare tract of unexplored potential in BMX racing product evolution.
