Since the scooter has been around for many years now, and has seen a lot of updates and fixes over the releases, the last versions of it are very reliable and barely have any serious issues left. Also, the E200 features another Razor-specific feature, which is the reset button, located next to the power razor scooter button. Whether the scooter folds will depend on the specific version, as newer versions of the scooter should come with a folding mechanism. The scooter is well protected by lots of foam and bubble wrap. While the Razor E Prime Air certainly is pretty to look at, it does have its shortcomings.
With higher maximum speeds and higher handlebars, these electric scooters are best for kids who are developmentally ready to go faster and have a little more adventure on their scooter. The all-aluminum Razor Icon is like the DeLorean of electric scooters. Its shininess and lack of paint really makes it razor scooter stand out from competing models. Razor sent me a version with orange wheels, hand grips and a big orange Razor logo on the deck — and I can say, if you’re going to buy one of these scooters, pick the boldest color you can find. However, its pristine look quickly becomes marred with dirt, as I found out.
I confirmed Lynn’s impressions that it was a noisy ride and not all that comfortable. In particular, the solid rear wheel, made from urethane, conveyed too much vibration from rough pavement to my legs. The E100 lacked much of anything beyond its brake, accelerator and kickstand. I looked in vain for a charge indicator or any kind of front or rear lights, which would make this scooter a little safer to ride in the evening.
Its long-range 36V lithium-ion battery will take you up to 15 miles on a single charge. Battery dropped over 20% in less than 3 minutes in an area where parking was not permitted. Haven’t reviewed all of my experiences, but it seem razor has let their scooter deteriorate the point the ride is not smooth and very poor. Customer service is very short and does not take the time to discuss your concerns.
The full-sized deck and frame are designed for riders 13 and up. The all-steel frame and fork deliver a solid ride and stand up to rugged use. The 8-inch pneumatic rear tire softens the bumps in the road and the two rechargeable 12 volt batteries deliver up to 40 minutes of drive time. When I was growing up, older kids got to speed around on mini-bikes powered by lawnmower engines, while I pedaled furiously on my Big Wheel. Thanks to cheap electronics, children now have access to a wealth of motor-driven vehicles, such as the Razor E100 Glow electric scooter.
