Shark produces a variety of different vacuum types at various price points. They’re smartly designed to reconfigure into a handheld design if you need a closer clean, and cordless options are available. When comparing their stick vacuums to Dyson’s offerings, Shark vacuums feel better built and sturdier. However, they also tend to have a similar but slightly worse performance on carpet. Their upright vacuums usually perform better on all surface types than BISSELL vacuums. For the allergy-conscious, the ION P50 model comes with a HEPA filter.
Even though some models have a small dirt compartment, they’re typically bagless, which further helps cut recurring costs. Features a bristle brush to deep clean carpets and an additional soft brushroll to pull in larger particles and directly engage floors for a polished look. It’s kitted out with a fancy-sounding Anti-Allergen Complete Seal, which is designed to capture up to 99% of dust and allergens. I have no way of telling it if lives up to the percentage but I will say the floors/upholstery I vacuum with it certainly look hair- and dirt-free once I’m finished. Many reviewers have also complimented the IONFlex’s ability to tackle pet hair.
It also has terrible air filtration performance, so it isn’t the best option if you suffer from allergies. However, it’s pricier than the UltraCyclone and has a much smaller dustbin. However, they’re also notably pricier than comparable Sharks, which usually feel better built. The Rocket Pet Pro can, like the rest of the vacuums listed here, transition from hardwood to carpet seamlessly. It can effectively clean both low and medium pile carpet, and its battery can last for up to 40 minutes.
However, the small dustbin means you’ll have to do a lot of dumping if your pets shed a lot. And if you are an allergy sufferer, it’s important to keep in mind that this model does not come with a HEPA filter. A long-lasting battery also has a significant impact on how convenient a cordless vacuum is. After all, if you’re carrying a cordless vacuum around the house, you don’t want to stop because it’s lost steam.
This filter collects most dust, allergens, and small air particles as it cleans. The P50 can, therefore, switch between heavy-duty cleaning on both hard flooring and low pile carpets seamlessly. DuoClean technology offers powerful cleaning even when in regular mode, although the P50 lets you take it up a notch with a power boost mode. You can use its companion app to schedule cleaning sessions, though there isn’t any support for virtual boundary markers. Unlike the Shark IQ Robot, it doesn’t come with a set of physical boundary markers either. Still, it cleans in an organized pattern and does a good job of maneuvering itself around obstacles.

It’s important to note that its brushroll isn’t removable either, making it a hassle to clear away any tangled pet hair.
