I downloaded all of the customer reviews for these grills from Home Depot’s website and plotted them side by side. This grill does everything I need it to do and more. The propane gauge is useful and the burners give decent heat distribution. Every grill has its hot spots and I’ve found that regularly cleaning the burners makes a big difference. In response to the price, the Weber Spirit II is surprisingly cheaper than the Spirit grill. The improvements made on it enhance its user-friendliness, unlike the latter.

I called Weber, and they said the bars are not available for purchase, since all parts of the Spirit II are warrantied for 10 years. I asked if the cast iron grates are also covered, and Weber said yes, the entire grill is covered. The grills of both series are solidly built using heavy-duty porcelain-enameled stainless steel. This allows for smooth smoking of BBQ at high temperatures with no chances of melting. The Weber Spirit, just like the Weber Spirit II, uses propane. The Spirit II has a separate iGrill device which is absent in the Spirit grill.

Best grill ever – heats quickly, three burner options, love the tank on the side as it is easy to get to. The easy-to-read fuel gauge located next to the gas tank lets you see how much fuel is left in the tank. The sleek open-cart design provides additional room and accessibility of your grilling tools. Our only quibbles would be how cumbersome it is to move around and the takeaway dish style grease receptacle.

The open cart, or open frame design of the Spirit II doesn’t appear to be offered in the Spirit line. While the closed cart with doors design appeals to many, in my opinion, it is prone to rust.
