If you’d like something cheaper that also uses propane, then I would recommend going with the Weber Q 300 or the Weber Original Kettle Premium. They’re both pretty similar to this grill, but they’ll cost less and their materials are all made out of aluminum instead of stainless steel. The only problem is that they have smaller grills (300 sq. in.) and they’re not as sturdy, but I’m willing to make this tradeoff if it means getting a cheaper grill with similar features. The chicken was super juicy on the inside and perfectly charred on the outside! Just look at those marks along with all that smokey flavor from slowly cooking over those low & slow smoking wood pellets (a mix of Cherry & Hickory).
The twin probes monitor the internal temperature of two cuts of meat, with the option to add two more probes. With no charcoal or wood to worry about, even first-timers will soon get the hang of cooking on this grill. This could mean searing on one very hot section of the grill and then finishing on another, cooler section. Or, you can use convection to roast or slow cook meat for many hours over indirect heat.
It comes embodied with an easy-to-read user manual which is an added advantage. Being an upgrade of the Spirit grill means that the issues that had arisen with the previous series have been considered. The BTU rating in the Web Spirit is rated 32000BTU per hour while the latter has a rating of 30000BTU per hour. The Weber Spirit and the Weber Spirit II have three equally spaced burners to allow even and easy heat distribution. You would want to take into account the number of people and the amount of food to cook.
This will help you with the number of burners to use. In the case of a large number of people, then you need to go for the series with 3burners. After taking everything out of the box it’s time to put up some of those nice stainless steel legs (yay!). The front part of these legs has a cool weber logo laser etched into them- very classy! Bolting them to the bottom side of the cart was easy though it would have been easier if they had just come with flat head bolts instead of nuts & bolts.
If you notice on all those photos above, Weber has put a warning label right next to the ignition button stating not to touch the polycarbonate plastic shell when hot. The propane tank installation however was a bit confusing . But I’m not an expert in gas grills so this may be standard. You should also clean your char broil performance grates after each cooking session to keep them from deteriorating. For the Flavorizer Bars, take a gentler approach; remove stuck-on debris with a plastic scraper and only use a stainless steel brush if absolutely necessary. Likewise, use a plastic scraper on the heat deflector and the interior of the cook box.
