A Compact Treasure Trove: The Weber Q 2200 Review 2022 Update

The grill grates are the toughest part to clean, but they are small enough that they will fit in a dish tub to soak when you’re away from home. There is weber q also a very durable porcelain coating covering the grates. Preheating is a requirement because if the grates aren’t hot, your food could bake right on.

We weigh everything that goes into our RV and our Q1200 is a bit less than 23 lbs without the propane bottle. The weight that everyone seems to quote in their reviews is lbs and that is the shipping weight, not the actual weight of the grill. As I mentioned earlier, the materials used to make all the main parts are either cast aluminum, stainless steel, or glass-reinforced nylon. All of these materials will hold up exceptionally well in most situations, given that the grill is stored correctly when not in use. By that, I mean, don’t leave it outside in the elements and expect it to look pretty in five years. From there, it was simply a matter of checking the drip pan.

If it passes the break-in period without improving, then give Weber a call. They will likely replace your regulator free of charge. A stainless steel Q-shaped burner tube produces 8,500 BTUs of heat, which the grill efficiently and evenly disperses across the entire grill surface. It takes minutes to preheat thoroughly, but it must be preheated with the lid down. The grill surface is roughly 12½″ front to back and 16¾″ side to side at its widest points.

An adaptor hose can easily convert to a 20lb propane tank. This is far more cost-effective and won’t leave you running out of propane halfway through cooking a meal. The smallest of the Weber Q models, these grills are hard to beat when combining quality with portability. Perfect for small families wanting to barbecue at the beach or the park. Fantastic for tailgating or to use on your next camping trip.

Those accustomed to cooking on a full-sized grill know that a warming rack makes a difference to your barbecuing. Purchased at bjs problem is the 16 oz propane cans do not fit without forcing the regulator to the side because the can is forced portable bbq sideways by the handle. I have seen this complaint in other reviews WEBER needs to get off their arse and fix this. I called Weber they recommended I loosen all, the screws so I could try and get the can to fit that way…how ridiculous.

Just set up the grill so that the lid opens away from the wind, creating a natural wind barrier. It also works very well in temperatures below freezing, for those of you crazies who insist on doing that. I feel there one massive strike against it being genuinely portable. It’s around 30 lbs and is a bit cumbersome to transport without wheels. Out of the box, it feels a little clunky and awkward. It isn’t the type of grill you would be willing to carry very far.

These small cookers make travel easy, but obviously limit the amount and size of what can be cooked. They may be used as a table top grill or mounted to a fold out stand with two legs, two wheels and tool hooks.

In the weeks that I used it, the disposable tray only needed to be emptied once, and I simply lined it with heavy-duty aluminum foil as a makeshift tray. However, if you prefer the perfect fit of Weber’s disposable tin trays , you can get replacements for quite cheap. It just so happened that while I was testing the grill, my boyfriend had an off-site event at work. Using the grill, he was able to cook easily for himself and four coworkers, and they all agreed that the burgers and hot dogs came out great. Like a kid on Christmas, I couldn’t help but try out the 2200 the day I got it.
