The sound quality is phenomenal and you can always turn off the NC feature on iPhone by swiping down on the top right and holding the volume bar. The Sony WH-H900N/h.ear on 2 Wireless have similar performance to the Beats Studio3 Wireless. The Sony have a better-balanced default sound profile and more customization options, thanks to their companion app.
I think the brand as a whole has grown up from its younger days, across design, hardware and the sound quality. There’s still an emphasis on bass, but not an overemphasis that results in a horribly balanced mix. Since Apple owns Beats, the Studio3s get to have the latest and greatest tech from the tech giant, including Apple’s W1 chip for easy pairing and switching among devices in that ecosystem.
They even boast a quick charging feature too, which grants them five hours for a 10 minutes of charging. Modular Mod-1s, but those headphones sported a metal-plated button, while the Studio3 Wireless are entirely plastic. In order to control the Studio3 Wireless manually, and access all of their features, you have to press this button. Every time you do, you will be reminded of how plasticy and cheap the construction is. This isn’t something you want after you’ve just bought a $350 pair of headphones.

With the ANC disabled, they will last up to 40 hours, which is really something to write home about. If you forget to charge overnight, a quick 10-minute charge will provide 3-hours of playback. I can vouch that this would be a very handy feature for me. We can happily report that wireless performance, whether using an Android or an iPhone, was virtually perfect. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Apple’s revision to its top-tier Beats product, especially once I heard that the Studio 3 would include active noise cancellation . Beats says with noise canceling off, you can expect about 40 hours of battery life, and that was pretty close to what I got. So that would mean you can listen for a little under two days; on average, with off and on listening, I got around three days before needing to charge. With noise canceling on, Beats estimates around 20 hours, and at most I was able to get 18½, with some pauses with the headphones being turned off. The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 Wireless 2016 are a better wireless over-ear than the Beats Studio3 Wireless.
In comparison to the Studio3 Wireless, the noise-canceling is far superior, blocking out all outside distractions and ambience. The noise-canceling in the Studio3 Wireless allows for a lot more intrusion. Like the Beats Solo3 Wireless and the Apple AirPods Truly Wireless, the Beats Studio3 have a few features available on iOS that aren’t as well-implemented on Android.
