Schwinn Meridian 26″ Specialty Bike

Some models have foldable baskets so you don’t need to have them set up when they’re not in use. Tricycles certainly aren’t just for kids; they’re both fun and practical for adults, too. We just provide information related to an adult tricycle and where you can buy them. The single speed is ultimately a limitation especially for riders who will intend to use the bike on a daily basis and over longer distances. Multi-speed/ gear variations take a portion of the effort from the user while with the single speed the user has to exert more effort to gain desired speeds.

This trike is well equipped for reliable stopping with linear brakes at the front and a rear-located hand brake. That way you don’t need to worry about trying to get those assembled and mounted to the frame. The brake cords are attached, so the main frame and handle bars are connected by those cords.

There are also plenty of good videos to walk you through the process step-by-step. The rider and cargo combined should be up to 300 lbs for the 24” model and up to 350 lbs for the 26” model. The high handlebars allow the rider to remain upright while riding.

If you need to tackle a range of gradients on your route, this seven-speed tricycle is the ideal option, making lighter work of hills. The spacious cargo basket has a solid base and can fold when not in use. Like the three-speed model, it’s only available in a 26-inch wheel size. Sandwiched between the rear wheels is a rather large cargo basket. Compared to all its features, the basket is the most useful. It can carry a respectable amount of groceries, a few days worth depending on what you purchase.

Unlike your typical 2-wheel bike, the 3-wheel Meridian trike uses two chains, the longer primary, and a shorter 50-pin secondary chain. From images on the web, the Huffy Nel Lusso is an adult tricycle with two chains. Connecting the two chains is a transfer shaft with two sprockets. The bike is apparently a single speed unit with two hand brakes — one on the front wheel and one on the transfer shaft. Presumably there is a freewheel mechanism built into one sprocket on the transfer shaft.
