Beats Solo Pro Wireless Headphones

Available in black, dark blue, gray, ivory, light blue, or red, the Solo Pro are on-ear (supra-aural) headphones with ample memory foam cushioning in the earpads and headband. They’re bulky, but comfortable over long listening sessions. The headband can exert a little more pressure up top than is necessary, but most users will be able to adjust the band to a more comfortable level.

Also, unfortunately, our dongle doesn’t take advantage of the H1 chip, so if you’re using an iOS device, you may get lower latency and a more stable connection. The headphones can also be used wired with a lightning cable, but you’ll need to purchase one separately as no audio cable is included in the box. If you want a pair of on-ear headphones with a much longer-lasting battery, check out the similarly-performing JBL CLUB 700BT Wireless.

The result is an immersion in your music without interruption. This function allows you to listen to music while still being aware of your surroundings. When you need to keep an ear out for those trying to get your attention, Transparency mode filters outside noises in while still providing the signature Beats sound quality. You may effortlessly convert to transparency mode when such circumstance calls for it.

These headphones feature built-in controls on the ear cup. You can adjust the volume, change the track, and answer incoming calls with the push of a button. The Solo3, beats studio3 on either side, has a confined design to provide adaptive noise seclusion and is less appropriate for filtering out background noises in busy or noisy environments.

If you’re an Android user who wants optimal wireless audio quality, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of great Beats alternatives. The chart above depicts just how well the Beats Solo Pro cancels noise. The higher up the line, the more those notes are attenuated. As you can see, even bass frequencies are blocked out by the Solo Pro. While this is quite good, it doesn’t with something like the Sony WH-1000XM4 or Bose QuietComfort 45.

Beats says you can expect up to 22 hours of battery life with ANC on and up to 40 hours with it turned off. During my tests, I was able to use the Solo Pro for almost a full work week before I needed to reach for the charging cable. That was with about three to four hours of daily use listening to music and podcasts and dialing to conference calls. Since you turn these off by folding them up, I didn’t always power them down when I took a break, but I still managed nearly five days of use. When it’s time to plug in, a quick-charge or Fast Fuel feature will give you three hours of playback in 10 minutes.
