The camera navigation is a lot better than expected, and it doesn’t have as much difficulty finding its docking station as previous models did. In truth, there have been several tests done on each of these vacuums. With a powerful motor and rotating brushes, the Dyson will vacuum floors and carpets. It will miss a lot of debris, and in one test on a popular television morning show, it didn’t pick up any dry rice. On test, we found the D10 offered good pick-up on carpets and hard floors.
All robot vacuums employ bumpers and sensors to help them navigate their way around your home and to prevent them coming to grief by falling down the stairs. But some are more efficient at finding their way around than others. Dyson may introduce its 360 Heurist robot vacuum to the United States. It is hard to avoid the vacuum for that long on a consistent schedule. I thought I could break up zones so it avoids me but this is not possible. Overall, great vacuum in terms of performance, bad vacuum in terms of ease of use.
Dyson claims the Heurist has twice the suction power of any robot cleaner and while I don’t agree that’s entirely true, we will agree that it does suck big time – and, with vacuum cleaners, that’s a good thing. However, the pay-off is worth it in terms of getting a very bespoke cleaning set up arranged for your house. You don’t get this level of detail with any other robot vacuum cleaner.
So while it does a great job squeezing in narrow gaps, it struggles to get under some furniture. Given they are unlikely to obstruct or obfuscate a roaming robot vacuum, the majority of these types of cleaners tout their shark cordless abilities to tackle hard floors. Using whatever navigation system they have, whether it’s automatic smart navigation or via boundary strips, the majority of robot vacuum cleaners on this list are fine with hard floors.
