It can be done safely at reasonable speed, if necessary. I avoid turning while riding downhill whenever possible. I have 26” x 2.125” cruiser tires on my Meridian, and they grab the road so well going downhill I don’t need to hang on but do for unexpected hazards.

Tadpoles are way more likely to skid the outer front tire in a turn, than the rear. It has better handling but you have to pay attention to it. You sit very low and your feet go uphill or at least it feels that way.

Put seat on top of the axle assembly too keep the mass weight down low ,,, you might need a pedal forward cylinder … The wheels are garbage as we found out the other day,,, they fold up like pop cans… The seat on this trike isn’t much different from sitting in a chair. He is also going to be holding on to the handlebars. This beautiful bicycle has very minimal rust and the tires are in great shape.
