Weber Q

I am simply sharing my opinions on these grills after quite a lot of time cooking on both of them. GearLab is founded on the principle of honest, objective, reviews. Our experts test thousands of products each year using thoughtful test plans that bring out key performance differences between competing products. And, to assure complete independence, we buy all the products we test ourselves. Despite a few hot spots here and there, the only exception to the even heat distribution of this grill are the farthest edges of the grill surface.

At its crux is a patented firebox that burns logs above the cooking chamber and sucks heat and extremely clean blue smoke into the thermostat controlled oven. I have to say, overall, I was impressed with what a good cooking performance the 2200 offers up. Although it has a few limitations that you wouldn’t necessarily find with a whole grill, I did enjoy grilling on it. Grill a quick afternoon lunch of burgers and hotdogs, or a fish fillet for family dinner. The main thing I want you to take away from this section is that all of these grills have great cooking performance. Lastly, the Q3200 includes a significant feature that none of the other grills have.

The weber genesis 2 320 is a great model that sits somewhere between a portable and full feature grill. Although its cooking area is not the largest, its performance definitely ensures that you will not be left wanting with the quality of your cook. Two fold-down trays feature on either side of the grill, allowing you a fair amount of space to rest plates of food ready for cooking, or ready to serve. While they are decent enough for their main purpose and do feel sturdy, they do make the grill a little awkward to move around. Weber are one of the most popular barbecue brands out there, manufacturing solid and reliable products that can be counted among the world’s best outdoor grills.

The Weber Q 1000 is the basic model of the Weber Q portable series. But don’t let the word “basic” discourage you from buying this model. It’s considered a staple in the Weber world and is a great portable propane grill to own.

BBQGuys does more than test and sell grills — we show you how to use them, too. Our experts provide the recipes and skills you need to be a grill master. I also own a portable bbq2200, which I have not done a review on, but I did write a review on its older model, the Weber Q220, which you can find here. This is all of the information that I can share with you at this time.

This is because the aluminum body is very good at retaining heat. Due to its small size, I recommend this grill for cooking for two people. While the Weber Q 100 is quite small and reasonably light, this grill does have a bit of extra heft to it because of the cast iron grill grate. All cast aluminum parts have a 5-year warranty, excluding paint which has a 2-year warranty that excludes fading or discoloration. The thermoplastic/thermoset parts, which I can only imagine include parts that are expected to get hot, are also covered for 5 years, excluding fading.

Even though it is not necessarily insulated, the heavier-weight cast aluminum lid seems to be well-suited to retaining critical heat when outside temperatures drop. While Piezo igniters can also be finicky in cold weather, the electronic ignition system is entirely dependable . The major difference between these models is that the Q1200 has a thermometer built into the grill lid. The Q1200 also comes with an electronic ignition compared to the 1000’s clicky push button. The grill is compact enough to fit into tight spaces but still offers a ton of cooking space. The lid is tall enough to let you cook a beer can chicken and there is enough grate space for a big pile of chicken wings.
