How to use a Keurig® Mini Brewer

Make sure that the power button has been turned on. Lift and lower the handle but do not add a K-Cup® pod. Reusable K cups for Keurig Mini and K Mini Plus are the only ones that fit all Keurig K-Mini Keurig Brewers universally. We reserve the right to change prices without notice and to correct errors. When you do this, you will hear the water drain into the heating mechanism.

For example, the removable drip tray has a chrome accent, whereas the K-Mini is completely plastic. Without the “Strong Brew” feature, the water travels through the grounds at a standard flow rate. However, using the “Strong Brew” feature, the water spends longer in contact with Keurig K-Mini the coffee grounds thanks to a slower flow rate. Therefore, if you prefer strong coffee, the K-Mini Plus is by far your best option. In the grand scheme of things, I guess that’s quick enough, but it feels long while you’re staring at the machine, jonesing for your cuppa.

Keurig sell a separate universal reusable filter basket called the My K Cup. To use it, you remove the grey adapter (for older Keurig 2.0 coffee makers). Turn the lid counter clockwise to unlock and remove the filter basket.

Press and hold the brew button for 5 seconds until all of the water has been dispensed. You may need to perform additional fresh water rinse cycles if you notice any residual taste. Before you begin, you will need a large ceramic mug, fresh water, Keurig® Descaling Solution, and access to a sink. Ensure that there is no beverage pod in the K-Cup® pod holder. Please allow approximately 45 minutes for the descaling procedure. After cleaning, align the K-Cup® pod holder with the opening using the two front ribs as a guide and snap into place from the top.

Add an additional 2oz of water to the reservoir to ensure the minimum fill level has been met, then press the brew button. The larger more expensive k cup pod coffee makers range anywhere from a 4 oz shot up to a 12 oz shot. The larger the shot you pull with the machine, the more watered down it will be, not to mention Hamilton Beach that then you brew over ice, it will melt the ice making the coffee more watered down. The removable drip trays in both models comes in handy here as you can just remove the whole plate after a spill and wash it over running water in the sink. Because of their small designs, there are fewer parts to keep cleaning.
