The XF4H-1 was designed to carry four semi-recessed AAM-N-6 Sparrow III radar-guided missiles, and to be powered by two J79-GE-8 engines. As in the McDonnell F-101 Voodoo, the engines sat low in the fuselage to maximize internal fuel capacity and ingested air through fixed geometry intakes. Since the shadow detail retains more information in the dji mini 2 fly more combo RAW files, I preferred to use Manual mode to expose for the highlights, then bring back some shadow detail in Lightroom. In high wind, the drone will do its best to keep adjusting to maintain stability. I’d definitely recommend purchasing one of these shorter lightning to USB cables, rather than using a regular length one which will be left dangling off the controller. You can use a range of tablets, but I found the Mini to be the best in terms of size/weight.
I used TapFly to navigate gaps between trees that I would never have attempted on my own. Again, it’s also not hard to see how this capability might improve in future releases. For example, DJI could add a way to slow down and speed up the drone at specific points in the flight path. You can do all of those things with the Phantom 3 models, but new for the Phantom 4 is ActiveTrack, which uses the OSS to follow a subject. You just draw a box on screen around what you want to track, tap the Go button that appears and the drone starts following, keeping the camera centered on whoever or whatever you selected. Clip a tree at 100 feet in the air and it can either start an uncontrollable fall to the ground or, perhaps worse, get stuck like some cruel Christmas tree ornament you can see but never touch.
A little movement on the stick literally goes a long way, though. And the OSS doesn’t work in Sport mode so if you’re flying head-on into something, don’t expect these sensors to save you. Plus, when it is travelling dji fly at top speed, it takes much more time for it to stop. The DJI Go app warns you of this the first time you enter the mode, but never again. Regardless, it’s not a mode I would suggest for first-time pilots.

Along with obstacle avoidance, the can be flown simply by tapping on your screen, as my son did. And it can use its computer vision to identify a specific person and follow them, keeping the subject of your film perfectly in frame. I guide it up to about 12 feet with the throttle on the remote control.
