The series of shavers from Philips Norelco are probably the gold standard when it comes to rotary shavers. The Norelco 2100 is a great addition and it comfortably sits in a spot where the value it offers outweighs its cost considerably, making it the best Norelco shaver for the price. Featuring self-sharpening razor blades that never go dull, this excellent shaver is sure to provide you with a 25 percent closer shave. If you want to trim your facial hair, it also comes with a pop-up trimmer that guarantees to give your mustache, beard, and sideburns an excellent trim.
Luckily the shaver is very lightweight and you probably won’t have any serious issues during use. Unlike older budget Philips razors, it actually seems pretty solid and well made. The shaver is quite large, definitely larger than what the official photos might suggest, but it is very lightweight at 189 grams, so the ergonomics aren’t really affected by the size. Subjectively, I think they did a good job as these products now look and feel better than before. The other two variations available in the USA are the Remington Shaver 2500 (S1311/82) (1-hour charging time) and the Philips Norelco Shaver 2100 (S1111/81) .
Samsung’s lower range of phones are notorious for the Asia and EU models having more RAM, more built in storage, higher resolution displays, even fingerprint locks, on the “same model” phone. Though on many of those the US Canada models had removable batteries while the EU Asia ones didn’t. Unfortunately those phones were useless in North America because they used different frequency ranges. I noticed that we have moved to thin devices, bigger devices with bigger batteries, with even bigger batteries, with even bigger batteries but our battery life has stalled in the last years. Simply because the idea of efficiency has been going out of the door in favor of raw performance.
Simply peel the aluminum seal off the top of the cleaning cartridge and you are ready to begin. This won’t be a problem for most of you, who will simply set the dock up in their bathroom and be done with it. But for those of you that travel and leave the dock at home, I recommend investing in a spare power adapter. We did find that this was true of cheaper models but once you get to the higher end like where we are now, there is no pulling whatsoever. But to achieve the perfect shave there is a learning curve that needs to be overcome.
The 45 high performance blades are self sharpening for a consistent shave every time. Beightol uses the less-expensive version of the same razor as the one featured above. (He thinks the 6800 would be worth it if you have the budget, since it allows for a faster and more comfortable shave.) The heads of the 3100 still pivot, just not as dynamically as those of the 6800. Beightol says he’s “been using rotary electric razors for over a decade” and that he has always stuck with a relatively simple model like this one. Norelco men’s trimmers are a must have for ear, nose, and mustache detailing.
Ordering expensive products online is often a scary process. Delivery drivers are often known for their heavy hands and ability deliver packages squashed and misshapen. The Philips Series shavers are perhaps the best packaged out of all the major brands.
It’s held up remarkably well and, aside from a dip after a little more than a year of use which was remedied by replacing the foil, the shave quality has remained consistent. Nicolas Tremblay liked Loko-the Tiniest GPS tracker with 270 days battery. And while I am at it, mandating USB-C is also a stupid requirement. Apple have had their Lightening connector for so many years I’ve forgotten when it was released.
The shaver seemed to work just as well as it did dry, with the water adding additional lubrication. I must point out that not a whole lot of pressure is needed for an effective shave. This is largely thanks to the head pivoting in various directions as it crosses the contours of your face.
