At the end of its life, a Roomba battery or the entire machine can be safely recycled through local electronics/battery recycling programs or through Roomba’s recycling partners in the U.S. and around the world. It combines this data with information from its infrared and object sensors to inform its movements.

Its smart-map feature is as robust as any that we’ve used, letting you tell the bot which specific rooms to clean, places to avoid, and when to do it all through a smartphone app and Wi-Fi connection. It also moves faster and bonks into fewer things than other robots at this price, particularly the Roomba i3 EVO. It won’t clean carpets or hair as well as the Roomba i3 EVO and may not last as long, but owners generally seem satisfied with this bot’s performance. Previously a base model to consider, the newer options offer better power and more functionality than this Roomba.

A quieter runner than others we tested, it might be a great pick for spaces or situations where a not-so-loud robot cleaner is needed. All iRobot vacuums use a three-stage cleaning system to loosen, lift, and suction dirt and debris; however, the power will vary depending on the Roomba. For instance, the i7 has 10 times the suction power of the 600 series; therefore, users looking for a heftier clean may want to choose a model with this in mind. IRobot Roomba is arguably the most popular robot vacuum cleaner brand that produces a variety of models. It lifts dirt, dust and debris and can even detect dirtier areas of your home to clean them more thoroughly. Since iRobot’s first Roomba came out in the early 2000s, robot vacuum technology has improved dramatically.

Depending on how often you use your robot vacuum, it’s recommended that you clean it at least once a week, or run the risk of it not working correctly. The smarter models will negotiate your furniture with ease and do a methodical and thorough cleaning job. It excels at cleaning floors of all types, has uber smart navigation, and even empties itself mid-clean to save you the hassle. It has a two hour charge, anti-tangle technology to prevent jams, and adaptive suction that increases power on carpets and rugs. We also loved that this device was super quiet and can automatically dispose of any dirt and debris into a bigger vacuum bag so you don’t have to empty it as often. In terms of set and forget you can set a schedule for your cleaner as you wish during the week and as your smartphone knows your location you can even get it to auto-start when you leave the house.

The i7+ will detect objects only once it’s made contact with its bump sensor so could end up chewing a cable. It did navigate its way around my office chair, but it took a good amount of time to do so. Once we hear it start, we now turn chairs over onto the table to give it an easier bissell crosswave cordless time at cleaning. A great thing I can see from Roomba is that it offers improvements to its app over time. One new feature that has been introduced since the i7+ came out is the ability to set areas that the robot shouldn’t go into, such as your pet’s food and drink bowls.

Pet hair on carpets wasn’t much of an issue for the Roomba either. This Roomba robot vacuum left about half of the material on the floor during this test. Multiple small tufts of hair remained after vacuuming low-pile carpeting. Medium-pile carpets proved to be the most challenging for the Eufy. Many more and larger clumps of hair stayed behind after the vacuum traveled over this surface. It can even mop and vacuum carpets within the same cleaning run by raising and lowering its mopping pad.
