Cuisinart Clermont Pellet Grill

The grill heated quickly and reached 485°F within 15 minutes. Since there was no sear plate that exposed the food to the fire pot’s flame, the chicken wings cooked evenly and resulted in a perfectly crispy exterior. When it came to low-and-slow cooking, the grill had no problem hovering around 225°F, and we only noticed a +/-10°F swing during the 10-hour smoke time.

Pellet grills (a.k.a. pellet smokers) are quickly becoming a backyard favorite of casual foodies and barbecue enthusiasts alike. And this surge in pellet smoker popularity isn’t surprising, as the best pellet grills offer upgraded flavor and ease-of-use that traditional gas and charcoal grills can’t match. Here’s what you need to know about shopping for a pellet grill. At low temperatures, the pellets will smoke without creating a large fire. That infuses smoky flavors into the food, similar to what you’ll find when grilling over wood or charcoal. When set to higher temperatures, less smoke is produced, and the fire pot focuses on creating heat.

The only downside is that the Clemont is pretty large, measuring in at 64-inches tall and 58-inches wide. Cast iron grates, double wall construction, large pellet hopper, viewing window, oven gaskets around the lid, Bluetooth connectivity, temperature probe, very sturdy construction. While I will agree that this pellet smoker has some innovation, I can’t say that I like it. First of all, Cuisinart talks about it being an 8 in 1 cooker.

This warranty does not cover corrosion or discoloration after the grill is used, or lack of maintenance, hostile environments, accidents, alterations, abuse or neglect. This limited warranty will not reimburse you for the cost of any inconvenience, food, personal injury or property damage. For safe grilling and peak performance of your grill, perform these checks at least twice per year or after extended periods of storage.

Finally, I discuss the new kid on the block, charcoal pellets and their special attributes compared to all other hardwood BBQ pellets. If you’re not sure what a PID control panel is, and importantly, why you want one, my article linked above explains more. Put simply, a PID control panel can regulate the temperature inside the pellet grill/smoker much more precisely. This means two things, first, you get a better cook, but you also don’t waste pellets heating the grill to unnecessarily high temperatures.
