Braun Series 5 Men’s Shavers

The self clean auto function in the charging dock had me giggling like a school boy because it impressed me so much. Another new system in the new Remington Shaver shavers is the head changing technology. You might be noticed the older Series 5 shavers come with a slide-up precision trimmer that you need to slide up to make precision trimming along with shaving.

My main gripe with this model is related to the shaving head. The power button is also used to activate the travel lock function; you do that by pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. It also means the shavers will only operate cordless, so you can’t use them while charging. Remington Shaver Also, since all the models in this new release start with 50, I will be referring to it as the Series 5 50 just to differentiate the new shavers from the old Series 5. Old S5 5140s costs more than new S6 6020s but from your reviews I’ve got a feeling the old one is better.

But for a more serious case like this one, I think a Series 7 would be a much better choice. Is not only gentler by default, you can actually cycle through different settings, ranging from Sensitive to a High-intensity mode. While for most users that won’t make a difference, in this case I think it will be quite useful.

On the other hand, the 5190cc has a plastic cap (the other one doesn’t). That’s it really, no differences regarding the performance or anything else. It is nice to see someone who uses the products doing reviews. However, reading your answers to everyone’s questions you repeatedly prefer the 7, even for sensitive skin. Hi, I’ve had 7 series for the last 11 years and have been relatively happy with it. However, they have a flaw where the trimmer pullback mechanism breaks and the trimmer doesn’t fully recede into the unit.

As ergonomic as it might appear, the trimmer does not protrude from the shaver’s head and let you check how the trimming is going on. Besides, each cutting element in both shavers can swivel horizontally and vertically on its own. One thing to tell the difference between the two models is the presence of a skin guard in Series 7. The SmartClick precision trimmer is very easy to attach and detach to shave and trim with the device.

The same rubberized material covers most of the long hair trimmer as well. One interesting thing is that only the shaver is made in Germany. For example, the 5090cc reviewed here is the only Series 5 that comes with a hard travel case. All the other ones include a soft pouch or none at all.

You’ll look forward to the shave rather than feeling dreadful about it with this Braun model. Series 7 performs better with long hair that lies flat or grows in various directions. The results are pretty good when it deals with two or three days of hair growth.
