In essence this is a flying MFT sensor with the computing power of a modern smartphone and adjustable aperture. I’d just buy one battery for $209 seeing how long flight time is. Hovering for each image is not feasible for us considering a typical map we process has thousands of overlapping images taken by the drone.
For context, DJI announced the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine in November, both consumer drones. It remains unclear how the Mavic 3 Enterprise will differ from its consumer counterparts, but its shell has leaked online, embedded below. Otherwise, the only other hint we can glean from the leak is that the battery section – which takes up most of the craft’s body – looks a little larger than on the Mini 2. Whether or not this means the DJI Mini 3 will use a new Intelligent Flight Battery remains unclear, but a longer flight time than the standard 31 minutes is certainly on our wishlist. The leak also reveals a very different front end that hints at a redesigned gimbal support.
